LUCÍA MARTÍNEZ stellt in Berlin ihr neues Project AZULCIELO vor. Die junge Perkussionistin, Schlagzeugerin und Komponistin Lucía Martínez aus Galizien ist eine der bedeutendsten Künstlerinnen der spanischen Jazzszene. In Berlin stellt sie ihr neues Projekt "Azulcielo" vor. Sie verfügt über eine unvergleichliche Technik und Feinfühligkeit beim Musizieren. Die vielseitige Multiinstrumentalistin gehört zur neuen Generation europäischer Jazzmusiker, deren Kunst dennoch südliche Züge trägt.
Ihr Stil ist geprägt von der Folkmusik Galiziens, vom Flamenco und den Klängen des Mittelmeerraumes, die sich mit der neuen Musik der europäischen Avantgarde verbinden. Ihr zwangloses, unruhiges und kreatives Spiel verleiht ihren Kompositionen eine starke Persönlichkeit, die sie ihrer Ausbildung in verschiedenen stilistischen Bereichen und vor allem ihrem offenen und progressiven Charakter verdankt. Das Ergebnis kann nur wunderbar sein. "Soños e Delirios", ihr 2009 von Nuba Records/Karonte herausgegebenes und mit ihrer eigenen Band aufgenommenes Debüt-Album, ist einzigartig und zugleich eines der interessantesten Alben, die in den letzten Jahren auf dem spanischen Markt erschienen sind.

Lucia Martínez Cuarteto:
Lucia Martinez (1982 Vigo-Spain) is a young musician, with experience and a really strong background in world, classical and jazz music. A versatile multi-instrumentalist (vibraphone, drums, percussion) and composer. Lucía belongs to the new young generation of jazz musicians in Europe, but with the flavour from the south. Her style is influenced for the folk music from Galicia (North Spain), flamenco and all the music from Mediterranean, mixing it with the new avant-garde music.
In 2003 she founded her own Quartet as a leader, where she plays drums, percussion and also writes the compositions, with members of the new jazz generation of musicians coming from the south Europe: João Pedro Brandão on flute and alto sax; Pedro Neves on piano and melodica and Carl Minnemann on doublebass.
“Lucia Martínez Quartet” appeard on several jazz festivals such as Jazz Festival ImaxinaSons (Spain), Jazz Festival in Vila Real (Portugal), Iberojazz (Spain), Festival Jazz es Primavera- SanJuan Evangelista de Madrid, Jazz no rio (Portugal), Músicas no palácio (Portugal) to just name a few. And also in concerts like “Congress film 2006 in Vigo”(Spain), in Bflat of Matosinhos (Portugal) Hot5 Porto (Portugal), Manteca jazz Vigo (Spain), Contrabass Jazz Club (Spain), Show Hall 2007 (Santander-Spain), Hot Club, Onda Jazz and Maxime (Lisabon-Portugal). They played also live fo TVG (television from Galicia-Spain) on the 24 of July 2007.
They realised their first CD “Lucia Martinez Quartet: Soños e delirios” (Karonte 2009), with the additional contributions of Perico Sambeat on alto saxophone, Maria João, vocals, Jose Alberto Gomes on electronics, and Juantxin and Toto on clapping. The CD is produced by Baldo Martínez and Lucía Martínez.
This is a new and original project, led by a young woman, drummer, percussionist and composer, who introduced a proposal solid and interesting, ready to grow and consolidated over time.

The Levitation Trio:
Levitation is a trick, a technique, a phenomenon of lightness.
The Levitaion Trio is an adventure, an expedition, a thriller with three leading actors.
Their space is adorned with sounds arising from a playful trialogue/trialect in which the acoustic communication of emotions, thoughts and stories is explored. Manuel Miethe (saxophone), Lucia Martinez (percussion) and Horst Nonnenmacher (double bass) stir their tonal cauldron with free musical improvisation of an intensely focused character, and with floating ease, imagination and wit the pieces of a colourful mosaic are rearranged, falling again and again into new and surprising images.

Trio MBM (Martinez, Bravo, Martínez):
El trío Martínez, Bravo, Martínez se ha formado en el 2009 . Aunque los tres músicos han colaborado y grabado en distintas formaciones anteriormente como el “Proyecto Minho”, dirigido por Baldo Martinez y cuyo disco ha sido seleccionado por la revista “Cuadernos del jazz” como mejor disco del año 2009.
En esta ocasión nos presentan un repertorio formado por composiciones de los tres músicos enmarcado estilísticamente en el jazz europeo. El objetivo es explorar diversas facetas dentro de la improvisación que van desde marcos con cierta densidad armónica a campos mas cercanos al free jazz e incluso incursiones en improvisación libre .
La forma de trabajar del grupo se aleja del clásico trío de jazz con solista y sección rítmica acompañante, apostando mas bien por un contrapunto de los tres instrumentos con un claro objetivo en común. El resultado es un repertorio coherente y al mismo tiempo heterogéneo en donde el factor sorpresa está siempre presente. Una mirada al jazz europeo pero sin intención de dar la espalda a las formas más clásicas que también tienen su espacio en el repertorio.

El contrabajista gallego BALDO MARTÍNEZ es uno de los músicos más representativos del jazz contemporáneo hecho en España, alejado de las corrientes del Jazz americano y muy en la línea del Jazz europeo actual alterna su actividad musical entre el Jazz y la música libre improvisada. Entre sus proyectos mas recientes es de destacar el PROJECTO MIÑO, uno de los mas atrevidos e innovadores que dirige Baldo Martínez, que presento en la gira realizada por Alemania (Trienal de música de Colonia, European Jazz made in.....de Munich), y en España desde 2005.

Tim Tim por Tim Tum:
El lenguaje del proyecto „Tim Tim por Tim Tum“ explora un universo de interacción e improvisación entre los músicos, el sonido y el silencio, la acústica y la estética, lo gestual y lo imprevisible.
El objetivo del proyecto es la comunicación con el público, a través de sonidos, ritmos o expresión corporal, presentando en escena cuatro baterías, y esperando la reacción emotiva de la audiencia.

Lightning Jungle Junkees:
Lightning Jungle Junkees is a Danish-Spanish-German trio based in Berlin whose members share a preference for free improvisation and all that comes with it. The rather unusual constellation of instruments – with no bass or chord instruments – forces the musicians along new musical paths and makes them reconsider the traditional role of their instrument. Through improvisation the band collaborates to invent musical stories that transcend borders and the customary use of their instruments.
